Alhamdulillah, today after Zuhr, an amazing and deeply meaningful event took place at Madina Masjid, Colne, where we had the honour of reflecting upon the beautiful book I’m a British Muslim, written by our noble teacher, Muhsin-e-Ahle Sunnat, His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada حفظہ اللہ.We reflected on what it truly means to be a British Muslim, explored the history of Islam in this country, and highlighted the remarkable efforts of our pious predecessors.Among those mentioned was the honourable John Nelson رحمه الله, an Englishman who embraced Islam, with a source recording his conversion dating back to 1583. His story serves as a reminder that Islam has a rich and longstanding history in Britain.We also discussed the oath of allegiance to our country, the importance of appreciating our government and nation for the many opportunities and freedoms afforded to us, and the responsibility of being positive, contributing members of society.Above all, we reflected upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was sent as a mercy to all the worlds — to Muslims and non-Muslims, to animals, and to the environment. His ﷺ mercy, compassion and beautiful character provide guidance for every aspect of our lives.May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to live as proud, practising British Muslims, honour our faith, appreciate the blessings of our country, and follow the beautiful example of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.A truly beneficial and thought-provoking gathering.
